Privacy policy
This privacy policy applies to the FluxSub Chrome extension (“FluxSub — Dual subtitles”) and this website (https://fluxsub.morinam.com).
Effective date: 8 September 2026.
Data we collect
The extension reads subtitle files and subtitle-related player JSON on Netflix, Disney+, Coupang Play, Wavve, and TVING that are already available in your logged-in session. It stores overlay settings, default languages, per-title language picks, and title identifiers as local settings keys. If you save a Google or DeepL API key, that key and a local cache of translated captions stay on the device. Feedback submitted on this website may include type, nickname, message, service, optional email, site version, browser information, and IP address.
FluxSub does not collect OTT passwords, payment details, health or financial data, precise location, or web history. It does not use an analytics SDK and does not read browsing outside the supported streaming sites.
How we use data
Subtitle files and player JSON are used only to show two subtitle lines at once on the supported services.
If a language track is missing and you choose a translation engine, cue text is translated on the device (Chrome Translator) or sent to the API you selected (Google Cloud Translation or DeepL).
Website feedback is used only so the operator can improve the product. It is not posted publicly.
Where data is stored
Overlay settings and per-title language picks are saved with chrome.storage.sync and may sync with your Google account if Chrome Sync is on.
API keys and the translated-caption cache stay in chrome.storage.local on this device. FluxSub has no developer backend that receives subtitles. Website feedback is stored by the site operator.
Sharing with third parties
Subtitle text is sent to Google Cloud Translation and/or DeepL only when you enable that engine and have saved an API key. Those transfers follow the provider’s terms. This website hosts its own font files. There is no analytics vendor. The floating Support Us button loads a script from Ko-fi. FluxSub does not sell user data, use it for creditworthiness, or use it for unrelated advertising.
Consent and choice
Cloud translation does not run unless you save a Google or DeepL API key and select that engine. Chrome Translator stays on your device. You can stop cloud translation by clearing the key or choosing on-device translation. Uninstalling the extension or clearing its storage removes extension data on the device.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
When you use Google Cloud Translation from the extension, subtitle text is sent to Google only to provide that translation. FluxSub does not sell user data or use it for advertising.
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Retention and deletion
Website feedback is kept until it is no longer needed for support or product work. To ask for deletion, email the contact address below. Extension settings, keys, and the local translation cache remain on your device until you clear them or uninstall FluxSub.
Cookies
A PHP session cookie is used for the admin login and the feedback form. A language cookie remembers your locale choice. There are no tracking cookies for analytics. The Ko-fi overlay may set cookies under Ko-fi’s own policy.
